The invention relates to an assembly comprising a monorail vehicle (1), a two-rail track, and a rail changing system (3) which is arranged on the two-rail track (2) for transferring the monorail vehicle from one rail (4) of the two-rail track (2) to the other rail (5) of the two-rail track (2). The rail changing system (3) is arranged between the two rails (4, 5) of the two-rail track (2) and has a lifting device (6) as well as a positioning unit (7). The lifting device (6) is designed such that by means of the lifting device, the monorail vehicle (1) can be lifted from the rail on which the monorail vehicle is located, moved to the other rail, and lowered onto same, and the positioning unit (7) is designed to position the lifting device (6) on the monorail vehicle (1) in a specified manner. The invention additionally relates to a method for transferring a monorail vehicle (1) from one rail (4) of a two-rail track (2) to the other rail (5) of the two-rail track (2) by means of a rail changing system (3) which is arranged between the two rails (4, 5) of the two-rail track (2) and has a lifting device (6). In this manner, a device and a method are provided which allow a monorail vehicle (1) to be transferred from one rail (4) to another rail (5) in a particularly simple manner.
