The invention relates to a method and a device for monitoring the operating status of electromechanical actuators of a home-automation installation, each electromechanical actuator (301,...,30i,...,306) being designed to move a movable element of a screening device to open and/or to close, the electromechanical actuators (301,...,30i,...,306) being controlled in group(s) of electromechanical actuators by a control device (8), the electromechanical actuators (301,…,30i,…,306) and the control devices (8) being connected into a communication network. The monitoring device comprises a calculation processor (50) configured to implement, for a control device (8): - a module (54) for obtaining and storing a representative actuator (302, 306) of the group of actuators (G1, G2) for each group of electromechanical actuators which are controlled by the control device; - and to implement iteratively, over at least one chosen time cycle, a module (56) for obtaining an operating status of the representative actuator (302, 306) of the or each group of actuators (G1, G2) and for obtaining an operating status of at least one other actuator (301, 30i) controlled by the control device.

The monitoring device comprises a calculation processor (50) configured to implement, for a control device (8): - a module (54) for obtaining and storing a representative actuator (302, 306) of the group of actuators (G1, G2) for each group of electromechanical actuators which are controlled by the control device; - and to implement iteratively, over at least one chosen time cycle, a module (56) for obtaining an operating status of the representative actuator (302, 306) of the or each group of actuators (G1, G2) and for obtaining an operating status of at least one other actuator (301, 30i) controlled by the control device.
