The invention relates to a device (1) for a sanitary apparatus (2), at least comprising: - a wastewater inlet (3) for wastewater of the sanitary apparatus (2), a first wastewater outlet (4) for the wastewater and a second wastewater outlet (5) for the wastewater; - a cleaning apparatus (6) for cleaning the wastewater; - a sensor (7) for detecting a degree of contamination of the wastewater; and - a valve (8), by means of which the wastewater can be led to the first wastewater outlet (4) or to the second wastewater outlet (5) in accordance with the detected degree of contamination. The invention also relates to a sanitary apparatus having a device of this type.
