ALKALI ACTIVATED BINDER FROM WASTE CONCRETE
Alkali activated binder comprising carbonated recycled concrete paste as silica and alumina source material and an alkali silicate with a modulus of up to 2.5 as activator, method for manufacturing it comprising the steps providing recycled concrete paste from waste concrete, carbonating the recycled concrete paste to a carbonation degree of at least 5 % by weight of the carbonatable components, and mixing the carbonated recycled concrete paste as silica and alumina source material with an alkali silicate with a modulus of up to 2.5 as activator to provide the alkali activated binder, as well as use of the binder for manufacturing building materials.
