The present invention pertains to the fields of mechanical engineering, material engineering, tooling and environment conservation by reducing energy and raw material consumption. The invention includes an inorganic composite, the use of the inorganic composite in tools and moulds, a mechanical shaping tool, a mould and a method for manufacturing tools and moulds made of an inorganic composite. In one embodiment, the invention provides a mould and/or tool for mechanically shaping composite materials and metals, and a casting or injection-moulding mould, these moulds or tools having characteristic physico-chemical properties. In one embodiment, the manufacturing method ensures fast, high-quality and low-cost manufacture while reducing energy and raw material consumption, rendering industrial production by shaping structural composite materials economically viable and environmentally advantageous.
