METHOD OF PRODUCING CALCIUM OXIDE OR CALCIUM HYDROXIDE FROM A CALCIUM-CONTAINING LIQUID SOLUTION
A process of producing calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide from a calcium-containing liquid solution, comprising the following steps:a) adding oxalic acid or a salt thereof to the calcium-containing liquid solution in order to precipitate calcium oxalate, and collecting the calcium oxalate,b) contacting the calcium oxalate with an inorganic acid in an aqueous environment in order obtain a calcium salt of the inorganic acid and oxalic acid, and separating the calcium salt from the oxalic acid,c) processing the calcium salt to produce said calcium oxide or said calcium hydroxide.
