Mounting element (1) for an installation of a runner rail in a drywall system of a sliding door construction comprising a mounting angle (2) having a first angle section (21) for attachment at an upright drywall stud and a second angle section (22) for attachment at the runner rail, wherein the mounting element (1) comprises a bendable plate (3) at the first angle section (21), the bendable plate (3) being of a size and shape to be bendable around the upright drywall stud in a manner that a first plate portion (31) is in contact with a flange portion of the upright drywall stud and a second plate portion (32) is in contact with a web portion of the upright drywall stud.
