A rail 16 including a rail profile 20 having a fabric edge 28 and a wedge edge 30, and a wedge 22. The rail profile includes a first wall 24 and a second wall 26 each having an inner surface, and a middle wall 32 with the walls defining a wedge channel 44 and a fabric channel 42. The middle wall is at least partially elastic and in a relaxed state a fabric 12 is able to pass into the fabric channel. The middle wall includes an elongate deflection 66 towards the fabric edge to accommodate an apex 48 of the wedge when positioned in the wedge channel. Preferably the rail is formed from extruded aluminium or an alloy thereof. Further disclosed is a method of fitting a fabric of a covering to the rail comprising inserting the fabric into the fabric channel and pressing the wedge into the wedge channel to grip the fabric between the first and second walls of the rail profile.
