The invention relates to a cladding element (1) for a building or a part of a building, in particular for a roof, wherein the cladding element (1) has a contact surface (2) facing the building during use and an outer structure (8) facing the environment of the building during use, wherein the outer structure (8) is determined by a base material of the cladding element (1). According to the invention, the outer structure (8) has a plurality of reflective surfaces (3) for reflecting sunlight, in particular IR radiation (100), and a plurality of absorption surfaces (4) for the absorption of sunlight, in particular IR radiation (100), wherein the reflective surfaces (3) reflect the sunlight, in particular the IR radiation (100), to a greater degree than the absorption surfaces (4) and/or wherein the absorption surfaces (4) absorb the sunlight, in particular the IR radiation (100), to a greater degree than the reflective surfaces (3). The invention also relates to methods for producing a cladding element (1).

The invention also relates to methods for producing a cladding element (1).
