The invention relates to a mineral-based expanding foam based on: one or more foam stabilisers; one or more air-pore forming agents selected from the group comprising ammonium salts or alkali salts of carbonates or hydrogen carbonates; optionally one or more fillers; and optionally one or more additives, characterised in that the mineral-based expanding foam is additionally based on: one or more protective-colloid-stabilised polymers of ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the form of aqueous dispersions or powders redispersible in water; one or more latent air-pore forming agents selected from the group comprising aluminium and silicon and alloys thereof and calcium carbides; and 30 to 95 wt.% cement, relative to the dry weight of the mineral-based expanding foam, with the proviso that the proportion of latent air-pore forming agents is ≥ 10 wt.%, relative to the total weight of air-pore forming agents and latent air-pore forming agents.
