The invention relates to wallpaper having biocidal properties, all or part of the outer face of which is intended to provide a decorative visual effect, comprising a deposit of at least one polymeric binder, said binder being obtained by polymerisation of at least one monomer chosen from aliphatic or aromatic methacrylates, acrylates, methacrylic acids, acrylic acids, styrene and mixtures thereof, and further containing from 0.05% to 6% by dry weight of at least one non-polymeric quaternary ammonium salt based on the total dry weight of said deposit, and said deposit comprising at least one polyaminoamide-epichlorohydrin (PAE) resin.
