Installation pour couvrir et découvrir une surface (2) à l'aide de lames orientables (3) comportant : - de chaque côté des extrémités voisines des lames, un mécanisme (I) d'orientation des lames selon leurs axes de pivotement et de déplacement des lames entre une position déployée et une position rangée, - un système de commande pour d'une part, assurer simultanément le déplacement dans le même sens des brins intérieurs (11i, 15i) de courroies pour déplacer en translation les lames et, d'autre part, assurer simultanément le déplacement des brins intérieurs (11i, 15i) des courroies selon des sens inversés pour orienter les lames, - un dispositif (60) de distribution des lames (3) monté sur un chariot mobile (42) sollicité en rappel élastique pour être en appui sur la lame de tête rangée (3a) ou le bord de rangement (5), le chariot mobile (42) étant équipé de poulies de renvoi (43, 44) pour les brins intérieurs des courroies, positionnées de manière superposée pour délimiter l'extrémité du couloir d'entraînement (18) des lames.
