La présente invention concerne un procédé de recyclage des mégots de cigarette comprenant les étapes suivantes : - une collecte des mégots, lesdits mégots comprenant de l’’acétate de cellulose ; - un traitement desdits mégots de cigarettes de de cellulose mettant en œuvre une technologie de fluides supercritiques afin d’extraire les substances toxiques et/ou les odeurs contenus dans le mégot suite à la combustion de ladite cigarette, ladite invention concernant également l’utilisation d’un tel procédé pour la fabrication d’un isolant thermique et/ou acoustique.
