A dual action mortise door latch with a bevelled latch bolt C , the latch bolt being a split bolt thus comprising two tongues, each section being separately aligned and spring loaded E . This enables a door to be latched with the split latch bolt tongues even though the latch assembly may be misaligned with the door frame striker plate and keeper as either of the pair of latch bolts may engage with the keeper and hold the door shut. The bolt assembly may be used with a mortise type lock, for example a Yale (RTM) lock.
