Articulation joint linkage
An articulation joint linkage 150 has a first (152, fig 3) and second (156, fig 3) sockets, a ball stud (154, fig 3) and a locking ferrule (180, fig 3) with a cavity (176, fig 3). The ball (170, fig 3) of the ball stud is held in the first socket by the locking ferrule and has a ball shank (172, fig 3) extending from it, the shank being received into a second socket bore (186, fig 3). Alternatively, an implement actuation assembly 118 is claimed for a hydraulically actuated digging or loading machine (100, fig 1), such as an excavator or backhoe; the assembly using the articulation joint linkage to couple a linkage arm 132 to a spool 146, where the spool has a through-hole 148 and extends from a spool valve 144 to be received by an opening (188, fig 3) in the second socket.
