A positioning system 400 for an implement (104 fig 8) having a first moveable component 116 and a second moveable component 118. The positioning system 400 includes a first element 402 configured to be attached to the first moveable component and a second element 404 configured to be attached to the second moveable component 118. The first element 402 is configured to engage with the second element 404 to secure the first and the second moveable component 116 & 118 against at least one of an axial and a transverse movement during an implement exchange process. The first and second moveable components may be in the form of shells of a clamshell grapple. The first element may include a protruded portion 406 and the second element an opening 408 to receive the protruded portion of the first element.
