A locking pad bolt comprises a bracket 20 having a peripheral edge defining a recess and a lobe (32, figure 5). The lobe has a through-hole (38) for receiving an arm of a padlock. The locking pad bolt further comprises a bolt 14 having a shank 50 and a locking plate 52. The locking plate has a through hole (64, figure 7) for receiving an arm of a padlock. The locking plate also has a hook (54) arranged to loop over the bracket. The bolt 14 is axially moveable and rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the shank. The bolt has a first rotational position in which the hook is aligned with the recess (figure 5) and a second rotational position in which the hook is aligned with the lobe and the respective through-holes of the lobe and the locking plate are aligned (figure 6). The hook is dimensioned to pass over the recess at the first rotational position and abut the lobe at the second rotational position in response to axial retraction of the bolt.
