A modular scaffold board (1 figure 1) comprising a plurality of board members of different lengths and at least one joining member 21 for joining the members in an end-to-end fashion. The invention allows various lengths of scaffolding boards to be used without having to cut the boards as with traditional timber boards. The board members and joining members are preferably made from plastics, polymer composites or aluminum. The board members may comprise a female connecting part 4 and the joining members a male part 6. Later embodiments include a board member, a joining member and an end cap 31 for use with the modular scaffold board of claim 1.
