Improvements in the safety performance of corded blinds and curtain tracks
A safety device for window covering pull cords comprises a sheath 100 and a base chamber 106 for enclosing a weighted 108 lower portion of the cords 104, 105 of a blind or curtain. The sheath and lower chamber are movable from a first position in which they engage with the weighted lower end of the cords to a second position in which the sheath and lower chamber are separated from weighted lower end of the cords. This allows the user to access the cords between the base chamber and weighted lower end of the cords. The sheath and lower chamber are held in the first potion by a pivotally-connected arm member 103 that releasably engages with the weighted lower end of the cords. In use, the safety device prevents access to and tampering with the cords by infants and young children.
