A handbag 1 comprises one or more detachable components such as handles 20. The handbag has connection means 18, 19, 21, 22 by which at least one of the one or more handles is detachably connected to the bag body 2. At least one handle includes first loop 23 and a second loop 24, and adjustment means for varying the size of the first and second loops. The adjustment means may be a first sleeve 25 and a second sleeve 26 slideable on a central portion 27 to vary the size of the first and second loops. When dethatched the handles 20 may be used as feet or hand restraints.
