Rail grinding machine
A rail grinding machine 2 comprises a trolley including a frame 4 and wheels 6, a grinder 22 and a battery (38 fig 8) for providing electrical power to the grinder 22. The battery (38 fig 8) and/or grinder 22 may be removable from the frame 4. The frame 4 may include an adaptor (30 fig 5) that can support a grinder with both a profiling grind head (34 fig 6) and a lipping grind head (36 fig 7). The frame 4 may include a tiltable adaptor that can support the grinder 22 which may be on a translatable carriage 14 that can adjust the position of the grinder 22 in a direction perpendicular to the railway track. The frame 4 may include extendable handles 3 to assist with carrying. This machine may produce less noise than conventional machines.
