Emergency fire escape door lock device
A fire escape door lock device for use with door panel 8 and door frame 9 with a lock mechanism attached to the panel comprising a dead bolt 40 which engages with the frame and locks the door, this is electrically connected to a control device 31 which is in turn electrically connected to a switch 30 disposed in the panel. A press-bar device 1 attached to the door will actuate the switch when depressed and release the lock mechanism via the control device. The device also includes a mechanism allowing the lock to be opened from the exterior side of the door panel. Optionally the press-bar member comprises a cover member (11) is slidably engaged to receptacle 10 with a coupling device which moves towards the receptacle, optionally this cover member actuates a beam (12) towards and selectively actuates the switch. Optionally the coupling device includes a bracket 20 pivotally coupled between the receptacle and cover member to allow the cover member to be moved towards the receptacle. The lock mechanism may optionally include an electro-magnetic device electrically connected to the control device for actuating the dead bolt to lock the door panel to the door frame.
