Insulating product
Insulation panel comprising a wood wool layer 10 secured to a thermal insulation layer and present between the two layers a fire resistant material supported by a carrier material 11. The insulation layer may comprise a foam, preferably expanded polystyrene. The fire resistant material may comprise white/grey cement, magnesia, caustic magnesia, silicates and/or gypsum. The carrier material is preferably a woven or non-woven veil, most preferably of glass. The fire resistant layer is preferably a substantially continuous layer, preferably with a thickness between 0.5 and 5 mm. The wood wool layer is preferably 3 30 mm thick and the insulating layer 20 300 mm. The panel may comprise a second wood wool layer such that the insulation layer is between the two wood wool layers. Also included are claims to a wood wool layer secured to an insulating layer with between 0.8 and 8 kg/m2 of fire resistant material between the two layers and a method of manufacturing fire resistant insulation panels comprising providing fire resistant material in a liquid form, sandwiching between wood wool and an insulating layer and subsequently drying the fire resistant material.
