A modular support system 100 for providing a load supporting working platform for use on buildings, the system comprises at least two wall-mountable bracket elements 103 having at least two fixings or fixing points longitudinally separated along the element for use in mounting the bracket element to a wall 101. Each bracket element comprises a load bearing member 102 and a removably mounted support strut member 104. The at least two outwardly extending load bearing members together receive one or more platform elements 116 for forming a load supporting platform. Each outwardly extending load bearing member comprises a proximal end portion configured for removably mounting to the end of a wall mountable bracket element and a distal end portion to removably receive a support strut member and a cross-member 111. When mounted to a supporting wall and assembled the system provides a load supporting working platform support framework, thereby enabling a readily transportable and rapidly deployable load supporting working platform framework and platform for use in maintenance of a building, which system provides a strong, stable and robust platform by mounting and assembling to any location on a wall of a building without ground support.
