Sliding door mechanism
A shower enclosure sliding door mechanism 1 includes a first member provided on a door 3 of a shower enclosure, and a second member provided on a frame of the shower enclosure. A first bearing surface 33 of the first member slidably engages a second bearing surface 27a/b of the second member. The first and second bearing surfaces are formed from first and second low friction materials respectively, such that a low friction interface is formed between the two. The first and second bearing surfaces may comprise pairs of sloped surfaces in a V-shape. The first bearing surface may be provided on a carrier 31 configured for adjusting the position of the door relative to the frame. The first and second bearing surfaces may be substantially symmetrical. The second member may be a channel for receiving a portion of the first bearing surface. The low friction material may be a polymer, metal or alloy, and may be provided as a tape or coating.
