A depository 1 for parcels 5 including a housing 2 having an unsecured access point 4 through which a parcel can be delivered. A secure holding space 8 within the housing receives parcels from the unsecured access point. A secured access point 11 restricts access to the secure holding space. The depository further includes a device, which enables the owner to access the secured access point and also set the depository to permit an authorised person to have temporary access to the secure holding space via the secured access point. The device may be a lock 10 which also includes a mechanical keypad 15 for allowing one-off access. The unsecured access point may be a drawer, and flaps 6,7 may actuate upon closing of the drawer to drop a delivered parcel into the secure holding space. In use, the advantage is that the depository may be used both for a courier to make deliveries, and also allow for a courier to gain access to any outgoing parcels to be returned.
