The equipment, particularly computers, tablets and the like, is intended for operation in conjunction with a locking element to secure the equipment against theft, and comprises a cavity 52 which has an opening 52a which is accessible from an exterior of said equipment wherein said cavity opening has a rectangular shape and has a trapezoidal cross-section along one lateral dimension thereof and is defined by lateral side walls 54, 56 which are angled relative to said opening and an upper wall and bottom wall which are parallel to one another. The cavity may have a depth of at least 3.25mm, a width of approximately 4.5mm, and interior walls angled relative to a base at an angle of approximately 71 degrees.
