Lock handle assembly
A lock handle assembly comprising a thumb-turn assembly having a thumbturn 17 movable against a resilient bias, e.g. spring 61, from a first (inoperable) configuration in which the thumb-turn is inoperable to a second (operable) configuration in which rotation of the thumb-turn operates the lock handle assembly; and a sensor assembly 63 to sense when the thumb-turn is moved into the operable configuration. Preferably the thumb-turn includes a clutch 62, 55, and is uncoupled in the inoperable configuration. The sensor may send a signal to an auxiliary system to activate an alarm and notify a user via internet/mobile communication when thumb-turn is moved to the operative configuration and may also sense when the thumb-turn is rotated. The sensor may be a capacitive proximity sensor and detect movement of the thumb-turn toward and away from the sensor as the clutch is connected/disconnected.
