Anti-snap cylinder lock
A cylinder lock with two lock actuation assemblies 3, 5 and a rotatable lock engaging element 2 which is arranged to be in-between the two lock actuation assemblies. The first and second actuation assemblies comprise a first and second clutches 4, 6 respectively, for engaging the lock engaging element. The second lock actuation assembly 5 also has a weak point 7 which breaks when a pre-determined force is applied to it, the breakage allows for the removal of part of the second lock actuation assembly. A spring 8 biases the first clutch 4 into an advanced position when part of the second lock actuation assembly is removed. The cylinder lock also contains a spring loaded pin (9, Fig. 9) which engages a slot 10 on the first clutch when the clutch is in the advanced position in order to connect the clutch to the lock engagement element. The lock actuation assemblies may include key activated pin tumbler lock assemblies.
