A bicycle locking device 100 for installing on a bike stand (9, figure 3a) and a method of installing the bicycle locking device 100. The bicycle locking device 100 comprises: mount(s) 5,6 arranged to be mounted to the bike stand 9; a bicycle securing element 1 having a first end 1b connected to the mount 5,6, the bicycle securing element 1 being arranged to extend around the frame of a bicycle; a lock housing 3 fixedly connected to a mount 5,6, the lock housing 3 being arranged to receive a second end 8 of the bicycle securing element 1; and a mechanical lock operable to secure the second end 8 of the securing element 1 in the lock housing 3. The mounts 5, 6 may be movable relative to each other in use. The locking device 100 may be installed on a bike stand 9 by cutting a section from the stand 9, installing mount 6 via the gap (figure 3a), installing mounts 5a, 5b in the gap (figure 3b-d), and finally securing the lock housing 3 to mounts 5a, 5b (figure 3e).
