A clip 10 for attaching a brick guard 20 to a rail in a scaffolding system comprises first and second portions 1, 2 having a space between them for hooking over the rail. The first portion includes an opening 3 that allows the second portion of a further clip to pass through it, allowing a plurality of identical clips to be stacked adjacent to each other. The first and second portions may be substantially U-shaped, and the clip may provide a snap fit connection over the rail. The clip may be formed from a plastics material and may be connected to the brick guard, and both may be formed together by injection moulding. The brick guard may comprise a mesh, with the first and second portions being larger than the size of the apertures in the mesh. A brick guard comprising a clip along its top edge and a toe board clip along its bottom edge is also claimed.
