A barrier support for a queue management system
The barrier support comprises a post, with an upright portion for supporting at least one barrier device and a foot 4 at its bottom end, and a floor plate 5, wherein a lower portion of the foot and an upper portion of the floor plate are cooperatively shaped such that the lower portion of the foot can securely fit into and/or over the upper portion of the floor plate to locate the post. One or more magnets 6 are located in the foot and/or floor plate to magnetically secure the post to the floor plate. The magnet(s) are preferably located in the lower portion of the foot and may comprise six magnets equally circumferentially spaced around the lower portion. The floor plate is preferably formed of a ferromagnetic material and may comprise one or more apertures 10 in its upper surface for receiving one or more protruding parts 9 formed in the lower portion of the foot.
