Improved insulated building section
The insulated section comprises at least one framing section, each comprising framing members 120, with a space between the framing members defining a stud bay for receiving insulation 180, where first and second faces of each framing section define first and second major surfaces, with cladding 160, 170 on at least one of the major surfaces, the thickness of the insulation being less than the thickness between the major surfaces so forming a cavity 190 between 20mm and 50mm thick for service supply lines 192 between the second major surface and the insulation, at least one framing member having an aperture for accommodating a service supply line. Weather resistant barriers 127 may be located between the major surfaces and cladding. The insulation may be a batt, block, roll, matt, or pillow of inorganic wool. The cladding may be interior or exterior, be fibre cement, and be finished with sealer, primer, or paint. Joints between adjacent sections may be sealed for weatherproofing. The service supply lines may be electricity, water, gas, data, energy, air-conditioning, or television. Also claimed is a method of constructing the insulated building section.
