The bracket 30 has a riser, connecter to a batten support 50, the riser having first and second rafter facing surfaces, a low-rise configuration wherein the riser is a first height and the first surface engages a rafter in use, and a high-rise configuration wherein the riser is a second height, which is greater than the first, and the second surface engages a rafter in use. The riser may be formed of first and second portions 76, 78 pivotally connected via a living hinge 80, the first configuration being when the two portions are adjacent (see Figs. 9-11) , the second when they are stacked (see Figs. 12,13), such that a user may selected a desired height depending on adjacent roof tile design. The bracket may be T-shaped and formed from injected moulded plastics. The first and second portion may have a bore, which aligns when in the second configuration, for receiving a fastening. Also claimed is a pitched roof including the bracket either in the first configuration for plain tiles or the second for profiled tiles.
