Solar ledges
A horizontal ledge 1 that projects from a wall of a building that provides a platform for the installation of high density photovoltaic panels 4. Preferably the ledge extends from a slab 2 that forms a floor of the building, wherein the ledge 1 may be made from concrete, metal or wood. The ledge may also be used to enable the installation of façade 3 components. The solar panel is fixed at an optimal angle conducive for electricity generation, preferably using conventional flat roof mounting kit 5. The ledge may also increase the amount of still air around the building. The ledge is preferably fitted with a guttering system 7 to collect rain water. The ledge may be covered with a black waterproof membrane 6. The membrane may insulate and clad the concrete slab, or absorb heat to warm the concrete slab. The ledge also enables the collection of rain water. The ledges allow solar panels to be installed on numerous floors, increasing the buildings capacity of accommodating solar panels.
