Antimicrobial contact panel
An antimicrobial contact panel for a door comprising a frame 20 for attachment to a door and an antimicrobial sheet layer 24 to be received within and/or supported on the frame, the antimicrobial sheet layer further comprises a photosensitive indicator operable to provide a visual indication of degradation of the sheet layer over time. The sheet layer may have tabs 32 or protrusions, openings, recesses to engage with the frame to hold it in place. The sheet layer may be antibacterial or antifungal. The plate may be a hand plate or a kick plate. The degradation may be a change in colour over time. The layer may slide into the frame, for example into a split frame with a channel. The frame may be screwed or glued to the door. The sheet layer may be composed from polypropylene or polyethylene layers. A method of manufacturing the contact plate is also claimed.
