An access cover assembly 1 including a perimeter frame 2 describing an access opening 3 and a cover 4 pivotally mounted to the frame 2 at a first end thereof by a roll pin 5. The roll pin 5 extends from and/or into each side of the cover 4, preferably from a first hole (45, Figure 3) on each side of the cover 4 and into a corresponding second hole (25, Figure 3) in the frame 2. The roll pin 5 provides a frictional engagement between the cover 4 and the frame 2 for inhibiting, in use, inadvertent movement therebetween. The roll pin 5 is preferably received within, and in interference fit with, both the first and second holes (25, 45, Figure 3). The frame 2 may have one or more support ledges 24 and the cover 4 may have one or more feet 41 that engage the support ledge 24 when the cover 4 is in a closed position. There is also provided a kit of parts for an access cover assembly, a method of disassembling an access cover assembly and a method of opening an access cover assembly.
