A deck assembly 2 comprises a first support assembly 4, a deck, 6 and a plurality of support members 8 between the first support assembly and the deck. A plurality of inflatable vessels 10 are arranged between the first support assembly and the deck. Preferably the support members form an open space frame, where the inflatable vessels lie in openings of the space frame. Also disclosed is a floating dry dock assembly comprising a deck assembly 2, a plurality of buoyant vessels (108, figure 7) connected to the deck assembly, and able to support it, where each of the buoyant vessels are moveable relative to the deck assembly. Also disclosed is a method of raising a vessel from water by providing a deck assembly 2 connected to a plurality of moveable buoyant vessels (108, figure 7) sinking the deck assembly under a vessel to be raised, supporting the deck using the buoyant vessels, then lifting the deck under the vessel.
