Adjustable width roller blind assembly
The assembly comprises a roller 2 having a longitudinal axis, a generally rectangular screen 4 formed from a flexible sheet material having an upper marginal edge securable to the roller, wherein the roller comprises substantially cylindrical and axially aligned first 6 and second 8 roller sections and an intermediate section 10 located between and telescopically received within the first and second roller sections to permit adjustment of the length of the roller by adjusting the overlap between the first and second roller sections and the intermediate section. The upper marginal edge of the screen is provided with a releasable fastening means 16 adapted to engage the first and second roller sections and bridging the gap there between by the intermediate section when the screen is attached to the roller. The first and second sections may be provided with an elongate slot or channel 18 extending substantially over the entire length of the roller and parallel to the axis of the roller, said fastening means comprising an elongate strip receivable within the elongate slot or channel Also disclosed is a method of installing a roller blind assembly to a window opening.
