The traffic signal pole includes an extruded hollow cylindrical body 1 with a wall and a door 7 to access the hollow body. The wall includes an opening for receiving the door. The wall includes several support members integrally formed by extrusion in the inner circumference of the wall. The door comprises an injection moulded thermoplastic or polymer material. The door includes an inner facing surface which includes supports for electrical components and in the outer surface of the door housing for holding push button 9 components is included during the injection moulding process. Also claimed is a method of forming a traffic signal pole. The pole may be made from extruded aluminium, carbon steel, carbon fibre or plastic.
