A method of installing a new rail support
A method of replacing a section of track 102 of a railway with a section of new track 202, the method comprising; replacing an existing section of rail supported by existing rail supports 103 of the existing track, with a new section of rail 202 supported by new rail supports 203 of the new track. Each of the new rail supports is installed in a gap between two of the existing rail supports whilst the two existing supports continue to support the existing section of rail such that the existing track remain usable. Each new rail support is installed between the two existing rail supports at a predetermined position and/or height. The existing section of rail is removed when the new rail supports have been installed and are ready to support the new section of rail, and is replaced with the new section of rail supported by the new rail supports.
