Door assembly for an animal enclosure
A door assembly 13 for an animal enclosure (e.g. chicken coop), the door assembly comprising a frame 23 for mounting over an aperture in a wall of the enclosure, and a door 19 moveably mounted in the frame 23. The door 19 is moveable between an open position and a closed position, driven by a motor (37, fig 6). The motor 37 may be provided in the frame 23. The motor 37 may be configured to drive a pinion (39, fig 6) that is engageable with a rack (101, fig 12) carried by the door 19. The door assembly may comprise a crush detector (129, fig 20) (e.g. a TACT switch). The door assembly may come as a kit that contains a controller (15, fig 2) operable to actuate the motor 37. The controller 15 may comprise a programmable processor allowing the door 19 to be opened and closed at predetermined times or light levels. Another aspect of the invention includes the door assembly 13, the controller 15 and a lamp 13 to lure animals into the enclosure.
