Road marker placement apparatus
A method of placing a road marker 15 on a road comprises dispensing a road marker 15 from a dispenser 20, collecting the road marker 15 at a collecting position of a carriage 16, driving the carriage from the collecting position to a placing position, and placing the road marker on the road while the carriage is being driven in a direction (P) opposite to the movement of the vehicle it is mounted on at the same speed. A movable member 34 collects the road marker and may have a recess for holding it or use a suction device. An amount of adhesive is disposed on the road prior to the moveable member placing the road marker on the spot. The movement of the carriage and moveable member allows a longer time to press the marker onto the adhesive. The carriage may be driven by a belt. The placement arrangement may be moveably mounted on the vehicle between stowed and working conditions. The speed of the vehicle may be measured using a road engaging wheel.
