An elongate tile support (10) comprises a main elongate planar body portion (12) having first and second substantially parallel elongate edges (14, 16); a first flange portion (18) extending from a first of the substantially parallel elongate edges (14) and projecting away from the plane of the main body portion (12); a profiled portion at the second of the substantially parallel elongate edges (16), comprising a upwardly-open channel (32) and a downwardly-open channel (30), and a tile--retaining flange (24) inclined with respect to the main body por1ion (12). The support is mounted to an underlying wall structure and tiles held to the wall by it.
