A flood resistant door and door frame arrangement
A flood resistant door and door frame arrangement comprises two multi-point locking mechanisms 6, 7 and a gasket 4 that is compressed between a lower part of the door and door frame to form a watertight seal along the bottom and at least partially up the sides of the door. The first locking mechanism 6 comprises a first drive gear 8 for first drive bars to lock the door at a plurality of spaced locations along an opening side. The second locking mechanism 7 comprises a second drive gear 8 operating second drive bars to lock the door at a plurality of locations along similar positions on the hinged to the door and a at least one location along the bottom. Operation of both locking mechanisms locks the door and compresses the resilient gasket to form said watertight seal around at least the lower part of the door. Preferably a handle is used to activate the locking mechanisms, the handle for the second mechanism being removable with the spindle insertable into the lock boss when required.
