Builder's line pin tool with integrated spool
The builder’s line pin tool comprises a shaft having a handle at one end and a pointed head P at the other end for driving into cured mortar joints in brickwork, and a spool S rotatably mounted about the shaft for receiving a string, cord or line, the spool being lockable against rotation in at least one direction, for preventing unspooling of the string. The pointed head may be flattened. The spool may be locked by engagement of slots 4 in the spool with the flattened head. The spool may be tubular and slidable axially along the handle to permit engagement of the flattened head with the slots. The slots may be in diametrically opposed pairs around the end of the spool. The spool may have oblique string guide grooves adjacent the head. The flattened head may have side edges which taper inwardly in the direction of the handle. A flange 2 at the end of the handle may retain the spool on the handle. The spool may be locked by the engagement of a key on the head with a keyway in the spool, or by interaction of splines in the spool with splines on the head.
