The door stop 1000 is mounted to a door via mounting means 1030 and comprises a stopping member 820; biasing means 1020 for selectively controlling the member between non-stopping and stopping positions, wherein when the door opens, the biasing means automatically actuates the stopping member to the stopping position; and an arm 1010 on the stopping member which facilitates the repositioning of the stopping member between stopping and non-stopping positions from an opposite side of the door. The biasing means may comprise a spring hinge, a motor or a hinge plate with a lip protrusion. The mounting member may be U-shaped or comprise screws, a suction cup, magnets or adhesive. The door stop may further comprise a wireless communications module. Also claimed is a method of using the door stop comprising mounting the door stop to the door and biasing the stopping member in the non-stopping position.
