A portable acoustic booth comprising a substantially cylindrical frame 2 having a partially cylindrical shell 4 raised above the ground by legs 6, the inner walls of the shell being lined with a sound absorbing material layer. The shell may comprise tubular framework 14 holding at least one curved panel 16. Each panel may include a plurality of elongate cut-outs or open slots 26. The shell may comprise at least two curved panels slidable with respect to each other to allow the shell to fold. The legs may be retractable into the shell. The frame may be aluminium, stainless steel or plastic. The sound absorbing material layer may comprise at least one layer of serge wool 30 and a layer of acoustic foam 32 formed from a plurality of aligned pyramidal structures 34. The frame may comprise a roof 12. A microphone 24 may extend downwardly from the roof. The frame may comprise a top support frame 10 and a lower horizontally orientated support frame 18. A secondary U-shaped tubular frame 20 may extend inwardly from the lower support frame for securing a musical stand 22. The booth may be a temporary vocal booth for singers, voice-over artists, broadcasters and podcasters.
