A lock indicator and a mechanical lock assembly
A lock which may be mortised in the edge of window or door comprises a lock bolt housed in a main housing 102, the lock bolt moveable between a retracted position and an extended position in which it protrudes from an aperture in a faceplate 101. A switch (2, fig.4) is actuatable by the lock bolt to determine the position of the lock bolt, the switch may directly abut the lock bolt to detect the locking position. A transmitter coupled to a power source transmits a lock status signal to a remote device; the power source is housed in a separate housing remote from the main housing; the power source, e.g. battery, is accessible via an aperture in faceplate 101. The main housing and separate battery housing share a common faceplate 101. The power source may be held in a removable battery cradle, the aperture exposing the battery may be covered by a removable cover.
