Concealed telescopic door closer comprising a housing 4 for mounting in one of a door and frame with a plunger 14 biased toward the rear of the housing by a spring 22 over a first range of movement; the plunger having a ferromagnetic material 63 attracted by magnet 60 to bias the plunger during final closing of the door over a second range of movement. The plunger coupled via a tension member 24 to an adjustable anchor element assembly mounted to the other of the door and frame. The anchor assembly comprises a mounting plate 36 to which is adjustably mounted an anchor element 38 via screw 78 which adjusts the position of the plunger/piston 14 to alter the magnetic biasing force over the second movement range. The anchor assembly may include decorative faceplate (95, fig.6) with an aperture providing access to the adjustment screw. A threaded bolt (101, fig.7) may be used to separate and increase the distance of the anchor assembly from the housing to aid installation.
